  • C1/D visa for USA

I am in the process of applying for my C1/D visa and have an appointment scheduled for the 20th of october. I have completed the DS-160 form on line but chose to print the confirmation page later. When I returned to the application I was given the option to access and print the confirmation page, however when I clicked on the link either nothing happened or I was told there is an error which I do not need to report. (I tried several times)
Having done some online research it appears the confirmation page contains a barcode for your DS-160 application. I was sent a barcode for this when I made my appointment and entered my DS-160 ID number, the page I received also has a barcode which matches my UK passport number, Is this a copy of the confirmation page?

There doesn't appear to be any easy way of contacting an admin or embassy to ask about this.

Does anyone have any experience of this?

No, I do not think so. The confirmation number is not your passport number. Did you receive an email with your appointment on? Your confirmation number is stated clearly on this. If you are having issues accessing your original application, and you do not have an appointment confirmation it might be easier to start a new application.

I have an appointment and received confirmation of this appointment by email, this email contained two barcodes. one has the number of my DS-160 application the other has my passport number. However, the page doesn't say anywhere on it that it is a DS-160 confirmation page(DS-160 confirmation page is on the list of required documents). From what I can gather the DS-160 confirmation page is simply a barcode. Do you know if this is the case?

The email should have had an attachment, this has the application barcode on, as well as your photo and says confirmation at the top. Did you not get this? If you have the application number you should be able to get back into the application, maybe their website was down when you tried last time which is why you got an error?

I have the application number for my DS-160 and it allows me to log in to my application. I am then given the option to print my confirmation (which doesn't work) or start a new application which I don't really want to do unless it's a necessity. The email I received is titled 'Yatri: DoS Visa Application Confirmation (action required)' which I realise sounds like it's the confirmation but the only document attached is entitled instructions it contains the two barcodes mentioned but no photo. I received this email when I scheduled my appointment, not when I completed my DS-160. I scheduled the appointment after completing and submitting my DS-160 so I am hoping this is the barcode required.

You will notice the second line of this email requests you to confirm your appointment. This is not the confirmation. The confirmation mail will be titled - U.S. DoS CEAC Confirmation (DS-160number).

I can't see a link or anything to confirm the details. Do you know where it is?

Having re-read the US visa website it appears I can use a different DS-160 form to the one I used to make the appointment so long as it is completed 48hrs before the appointment.

There isn't a link, you just have to log back in, which brings us back to your problem, I would try again, maybe use a different browser, and see if it works. If not just complete another application.
