  • Sea service testimonials - 2nd Eng!

    Hello,

Firstly, thanks for having a look.

Now, upon returning home from my current contract, I will have 14 months sea time with my EOOW license.

So I was looking into preparing for my 2nd Eng license, exams required, courses required etc. Now that the required sea time has dropped to 12 months!

To my horror, I noticed that you need sea service testimonials...

My past two vessel on which I done 6 months and 5 months I did not get these completed when I was on board, so really I only have my discharge book as evidence of my sea going service.

Does anyone know if this will suffice as evidence, can I get sea services testimonials filled in after I have left he vessel by the company I work for or am I screwed and have to do more contracts to get testimonials...

Any advice or information is greatly appreciated!

    That was a bit daft...

Print out and fill in testimonials and then send them with a letter explaining directly to the vessels (if you know someone onboard) and get them to post it back to you - otherwise go through the company.

Or if you know someone onboard, email the testimonials to them, get them to fill them out and send back to you.

Just so this can serve as information to others,

I contacted the MCA and they replied saying that my company office could complete sea service testimonials for my sea time as long as the relevant information was provided. So i downloaded the MCA testimonial template and my company provided me with the information

Hope this may help someone else in the future!
