When I was at college they didn't do the HNC route. It was brought in the phase after so I can't comment on whether you have them but you need a letter stating your exemptions from college anyway for your NOE. Also, if I remember correctly, you could still have passed your certificate and failed one or two subjects. This is important as it's not the HND/HNC that matters but the certain subjects. These are nav arc, electrics, some kind of math. I think there's about 4.

I'm going back to college next week to start my seconds as I've put it off too long so at the minute I'm well read on applying lol

Ah yes of course, should have twigged onto that with having to do the same for my 4th ticket. I'll have a look.

    Thanks.

You will need to apply for a notice of eligibility from the MCA, the application form lists what you need to provide them with.

    Any recently qualified 2nd eng

    Hello,

If anyone on here has recently qualified as a 2nd eng, or understands what is required to obtain the license after completing the HNC route could you give me some advice on what I need other than sea time?

How long you have to go back to college for, subjects to be studied, courses to do etc.

I've contacted the Glasgow college twice (over a month ago two weeks apart) but they have not replied.

    Great!

    Cheers,

    J.
