Life insurance providers

I'm in the process of buying a house and my mortgage company is demanding that myself and my partner get a life insurance policy for the period of our mortgage.

Not surprisingly the quotes are huge because of the high risk nature of my job, plus the fact that I mostly now work in Africa etc etc.

I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for insurance companies that might be a little more receptive to merchant naval officers?

If your employment contract has a death in service benefit you could maybe subtract that from the amount you need to insure and reduce your quote.
