To laminate or not to laminate?

Well I laminated all my basic STCW certs but never got round to laminating my other ones and was just wondering what peoples opinions on it is?

Heard people saying 'Never laminate MCA hate it!' etc.

Personally I think its ideal for protecting them from wear and tear?

Have heard this is not a good idea because as you said it might cause issues with the MCA or various other governing bodies. I just stick them in poly pockets in one of them presentation folder things out of WH Smith. Does a pretty similar job and avoids any such problems.

I've seen some people use those big black leather binder things for certificates, but they take up far too much space in hand luggage.

Don't laminate them, best way of preserving them is to dip them in formaldehyde followed by a good tarring and feathering.

MCA have never had a problem with that method.

I think ill probably just laminate them , honestly think its the best way to keep them in good condition. Then stick them in a folder or something.

Just keep them in a plastic wallet. You can get 4 I'm back to back. Always done me well.

I'd reccomend not laminating. It'll just make carting them all around with you more difficult.

What i've done is just stuck them all in a polypocket sort of presentation folder thing.

To be honest, I can't see why the MCA would be bothered by it. A UK Flag ship's Certificate of Registry is laminated...
