I love the idea of England stealing Scottish oil.... or that Scotland should pin its hopes on a volatile / decreasing reserve and stick two fingers up the UK and Europe. Perhaps we should have border control and visa's to keep out all the foreigners? (i.e English and Welsh etc.)
How can the UK leave the Eurozone when we are not even in the Eurozone? The Eurozone is the name used for the countries that use the Euro.

What I'm talking about is leaving the bureaucratic gravy train called the european union, the organisation whose mission it is to wipe out our national identity at the cost of at least ?45m per day to the UK tax payer.

It is unlikely that it would result in job losses elsewhere if local job protection laws were put in place, nationals from other countries (Norway, USA etc...) that have local job protection measures in place for their national oil & gas fields have many many people working all over the world in the Oil & Gas.

      You are correct there.

Supporters of the SNP seem to think the leaving the UK will give them some kind of faux "freedom", where in reality the SNP just want to give more power to Brussels. I would rather be ruled by London than ruled by Brussels.

I would rather be ruled by Edinburgh than London. Probably rather Brussels than London in fact.

We are going a little bit off topic here.

Anyway, there are probably more Scottish people living in London than there are in Edinburgh or Brussels.

It is such a non-argument when SNP supporters claim they want to be ruled from Edinburgh as apposed to London. "foreign rule" my a**e.

Edinburgh is the least Scottish place in Scotland, London being far more Scottish than Edinburgh in the grand scheme of things.

It doesn't matter if the Scottish Parliament is in Edinburgh , Glasgow , Aberdeen , what people in Scotland want is to be represented by Scottish people in Scotland. Democratically elected people making choices with the interests of the Scottish people at heart. Instead of being an after thought of Westminster.

You clearly don't understand what the SNP what to happen to Scotland if we vote for independence in 2014.

They want us to be stripped to parts by the the EU.

Scotland will simply become a weak pawn in the grasps of the "EUSSR", far more easily manipulated than the much stronger United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland there currently is.

Many Scottish people don't seem to grasp that by being part of the UK we hold a far far far stronger political grasp.

United we stand, divided we fall.

And the English want the scots out of our parliament too. Sooner the better.

This tit-for-tat kind of attitude is totally unproductive. This goes beyond the realms of so called "banter".

you clearly have no idea of how intertwined our histories actually are.

It's because of this idiotic minority attitude that stokes our anti southern response.

I know the history, but you can hardly say that the scottish having their own parliament, while having their MP's vote on matters which do not affect scotland and is to be honest is none of their business is a fair system.

I think Scotland has a devolved Parliament as does Wales and N.I. to a certain extent so technically so should England.

Also the budgets need to be looked at. Scotland can only afford the stuff it does because it received over ?1000 per head more than england.

I think you'll find Scotland actually paid more in tax to the Government per head than England and received LESS back. This is a well known fact.

Analysis published today will say Scottish revenues outstripped the rest of the UK in each of the past 30 years when a geographic share of North Sea…

Well its debatable depending on who you ask. But the point is the system is unfair.

London pays more in than any other area of the UK, would you think it is fair for Students in london to go to uni for free while the scottish pay 9k?

                                How about social care?

                                What about prescriptions?

And its not scots paying more tax, its big companies paying more tax, individuals in scotland pay less tax than the english.
