Hi, unless you are training under the UK system you will need to check with your own country's requirements for issue of a CoC.
?Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn?t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.?

        *sigh* Fine, I'll be diplomatic!

Under the Indian system you can serve on any type of vessel, however for it to go towards a CoC then you need to tot up your propelling time. Yes, it's an utter pain in the arse, but that is how your system works.

If you are looking for a job, then there are facking hundreds of crewing agents in Mumbai (E.g. Anglo-Eastern, ASP, Bibbys, etc). Pop along and sign on with them! Asking for a job here won't help as majority of the folks on the forum arn't in a position to employ you.

You could worship the ground I walked on for all I care, but what I've said is still true.....

If you want to get a job, then go to a crewing agency as that's what they specialise in! You want to go on a specific type of vessel, you ask them nicely and they *might* help you. Also, the majority of folks on this forum are cadets and last time I checked, Cadet's don't go around hiring and firing people...

Yes you get sea time for osv. What else would you get? Air time?

Career prospects are good with osv, better than most other ship types like ferries tankers etc... can lead into other great offshore jobs.
