Full degree top up - engineering

Hi guys,

I completed my foundation degree in marine engineering earlier this year along with my COC. I got an email from my college talking about the fido degree top up they are offering next year.

I am thinking about it and would like to know if there is any benefits in doing this? I am unsure on what jobs I could do with the full degree? Is it worth doing these days?

Certainly if you move ashore into management positions, a degree is looked upon favourably over the vocational seafarer qualifications by non seafarers, management types and especially within the larger corporations who have tick box recruitment policies.
If you have the time, inclination, motivation and money, I'd certainly say go for it.
