  • RFA Interview, help and advice please??

I have been invited to an interview with the RFA soon, and was just wondering if any of you had any advice or knowledge that might help me?
any advice would be appreciated, would love to hear if any of you have experienced what its like in comparison to regular deep sea work too.. (living conditions, life on board, all that stuff)

    Cheers guys!!!

Have a look through the interview tips thread http://www.officercadet.com/showthre...ew-Tips-Thread . Make sure you know about RFA ships and their operations, where they are, what they do etc etc.

A quick google or forum search will bring up info about life in the RFA, it certainly isn't a 'normal' merchant navy employer.

Work on your generic 'middle class' accent. That's my tip for you.

Wow, that's a massive stereotype you've got there DMB, not only is it inaccurate it's damaging to potential RFA officer cadets.

The interviewer will be looking for you to answer questions using the STAR method (Google it) and will ask general questions along the lines of 'tell me when you've been in a team, led a team, overcome difficulties, why the RFA and not the RN. Also make sure you know your career pathway.

Be confident, make eye contact and be yourself. Good luck.

That's my experience of the RFA though. So therefore, my advice.

Silly me! I forgot that speaking with RP meant you could walk into a position in the RFA. Why did I even have to sit an AIB?

Please don't spout your nonsense in here, it's not exactly helpful.
