Just Qualified!!

Hi,

Pretty new to this, but recently I passed my orals and received my EOOW CoC. I am now looking for work, and was just wondering if any of you knew of companies that take on newly qualified officers? I've not been on the hunt too long, but I understand that some companies don't take on officers that have no experience in rank, so thought maybe some advice from here might help me focus my search a little more..

Register with all of the agencies, Clyde Marine, Sea Mariner, all of them. Be ready to get a phone call in the morning asking if you could join a ship that afternoon so keep a bag packed.

Call up all of your friends from college and ask them who they are working for, do their companies need junior engineers and could they put a word in for you.

Contact all of the North Sea supply / standby companies, quite often this is a good place to get a first trip.
