  • Hello

    Good evening,
I have been in the Royal Navy for 7 years as an electronics engineer. I am
wanting to change career and start a new career in the Merchant Navy.
I am interested in an Engineering / Electro Technical Cadetship.
However my concern is my age (25) and my qualifications.
    B in English Language
    C in Maths
    D in Double Science
    C in Graphics
    C in German
AS Level C in General studies,
BTEC National Award distinction in Electronic Engineering
NVQ Level 2 in Engineering operations
City and guilds 201 in engineering.

Will these grades help me gain an engineering cadetship?

    Many thanks Dan

    Re: Hello

You'd have no problem I'd say, especially for a normal cadetship. Might even be able to do some form of fast track given the length of time you've been with the RN. Give Carnival a go.

      Re: Hello

Indeed, no issues, the MCA "might" give you some time off your "senior" tickets if you go for engineering ie credit you some of the units you have already done. But age wise no issue at all. Qualifications are good too, get writting

Yes I work for the big blue canoe company.
No I do not report things from here to them as they are quite able to come and read this stuff for themselves.
