    Re: Hey =)

The thing to remember as well is that during your sea phases you'd have no accommodation costs, so more money. Whereas with SSTG, you actually get less money during your sea phases. All my dealings with SSTG have been good too, they're quite nice people.

I don't know what Maersk pay but the SSTG guy we had on our course, his wages worked out at about ?1000/month (including the fact that they were paying for his accomodation). On the other end of the scale, the Bibby guys were only getting about ?4-500/month and had to pay for their accomodation out of that!

Well, they're on the Clyde list, but they also have an e-mail to take CVs online (DonPedro suggests they recruit themselves, but I think they go through Clyde... I got no acknowledgment from them =(

Hey I'm with Chevron. I know for a fact they only go through Clyde in the UK. I suggest getting in contact with them, the problem is they dont take on a huge amound of cadets in the UK so it might be hard. I would recommed calling Bob Brooke at Northen Marine Management in Glasgow. He's in charge of all Chevron Cadet training in the UK and Ireland. He could probably point you in the right direction.
