Hello,

New to this forum as i've just been accepted as an engine cadet to Maersk. Hoping to go to south tyneside college.

Can anyone tell me, is it worth sending off a letter of initial assesment to the MCA if i've already done a degree in mechanical engineering? I've been told it might shorten the time it takes to qualify, i just wondered by how much really.

Hi Sarah & welcome, you'd be best to speak to the college or give the MCA's Seafarers and Qualification Branch a call first - they're usually quite helpful, the phone numbers 023 8032 9231 I believe.
