    Alrighty

I?m Craig and I am doing the ETO course via Carnival UK starting this September, still to find out what college I?ll be based at and if it?s the HND or FD route

Anyone else applied for the ETO course with Carnival?

    Hi Craig and welcome!

ETOs are a rare breed it would seem, and we only have one or two on here, though none for Carnival.

Us Carnival people have a Facebook group going over at http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/...30103013682856 if you're that way inclined, though we're all Warsash deckies so far!

Hi Craig, I'm going to be doing the ETO FD (south shields) sponsored by Trinity, hoping to get on some Carnival boats,

I applied to Carnival as well but they took an age to get back to me with the assessment centre date, I got offered the Trinity cadetship while I was waiting on their reply.

        Hi Big-Brows,

I'm going to be training at South Shields to be an ETO, I'm pretty sure you'll be there too, as currently it's the only college in the UK that train ETO's! I'll be on the HND route, that I have now been told will be running this year.

Keep us informed when you find out whats going on, you might end up in my class!

Nice one boys, cheers for your feedback

Gazbo, who is it who is putting you through your cadetship? And when was it you found out you were based at South-Shields?

Ill probably hold off until mid July then get in touch with them

            Hi mate,

Clyde are the ones putting me through my cadetship, I found out I'd be at South Shields straight away!

Mid-July is a good idea, as I think most prospective cadets should be getting college joining packs around then, so you may find out the answers to your questions when that arrives.

            Good luck dude!

Re: Alrighty - ETO with Carnival

Hello everyone! I'm new to this site, I found it a few weeks ago and have found it really useful! My name's Carole and I'll be starting the ETO (FD) in September at STC. My sponsoring company is Carnival Is anyone from around the North East area? I do live quite near the college so if I have to be in the halls for phase 1 it might be a blessing or a curse! I guess time will tell

                Welcome aboard Carole

I?m doing the ETO course as well via Carnival, and I guess that it will be at STC as I believe they are the only ones doing the ETO course, I?m from Ayrshire but quite happy to make the move down to the halls

I?m still waiting on word back from Carnival, so when it was they let you know?

BB, have you spoken to PL to ask? I thought most should know now where they're going.

Not a problem at all Caldo

For the cadets doing the ETO via Carnival that was the response I got from PL, not sure if it applies to all cadets doing the ETO at STC under different sponsors

                            Dear all

                            More news!

We've heard back from South Tyneside College and the earliest date they can start this new course is the 27th of October. I know we said it was going to be in September but this is out of our control.

You will be taking the following courses:

                            Personal Survival Techniques - 27/10/10
Personal Safety & Social Responsibilities 28/10/1
Elementary First Aid 29/10/10 ? then a four day break including the weekend.
Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting 3/11/10
Marine Electrician Maintenance 8/11/10 finishing on 26/11/10

After the 26th of November, you will be free to go to sea so I will get going on scheduling your sea time and will let you know the details shortly.

I have contacted STC regarding your accommodation and will also inform you of the details in due course.

                            Cheers
