Aspiring cadet deck officer here, still in full time education (6th form), hoping to make some progress with my CV and applications in the new year.
A lingerer of this site for a while, its given me food for thought on many a matter and thus it has been most invaluable alongside the opinions of other seafarers I've had the pleasure of meeting.

If you are in sixth form then you need to start getting in touch with companies as soon as possible, even if you are not 100% certain that this is the career for you, get the applications in, it won't cost you more than the price of a few stamps and you are not committed to anything.
