Now now children, be nice to the new boy!
Welcome officerhamilton, I think maybe you have gotten off on the wrong foot, we generally encourage our members to remain anonymous so that people can be honest about their experiences at sea and college. I'm guessing you're not a uk cadet and so maybe unfamiliar with our training system? If you want a professional networking site I'd suggest LinkedIn, here we do indeed discuss all thing maritime, including the difficulty of finding jobs, and if people decide to privately share information by private message then that's entirely up to them. However, posting what appears to be a request for help getting a job without telling us anything about yourself first probably isn't the best way to go about it. So, where are you at with your training? Where are you from? What ships have you sailed on?

Well its three year program if you pass through everything successfully. Phase I academic studies doing all subjects theoretical knowledge ( physical science, math communication skills, seamanship, stability, coastal navigation, celestial navigation, collision regulations, electronic navigation, cargo handling & stowage), Phase II year is sea time for 6 months and then your Phase III year is Theoretical studies again ( all subjects mention in addition to gyro & magnetic compass, maritime legislation, ship manoeuvring, wicket-keeping) and completing those successfully then you go to sea for remaining 6 months before sitting orals for CoC..
