Hi all,

I registered here a while ago and have tended to stick to reading the various topics. Today I decided that I?d actually introduce myself.

I?m a Fleetwood deck cadet with Clyde, sponsored by Zodiac (waiting for the unnecessary groans of sympathy!) and I?ll soon join the final vessel of my cadetship.

As I said above I thought I?d start contributing here and there ? maybe I might be able to say something half useful...

Welcome Mike! How's Fleetwood been treating you? I'd love to see some pics of the new library etc if you happen to have such a thing? I left just as they were starting the major refurb work.

I don't have any pictures, but you can just about see into the new library at 00:56 and the entrance to it at 01:38 in the following link:

The refurb is complete now, but the place still leaks if there's a few hours of snowfall. You probably wouldn't recognise most of it now - I didn't when I went back for Phase 3 (most of the work was done when I was away). A lot of the old pictures hanging up have been kept however Blackpool and the Fylde in their infinite wisdom have also incorporated some pictures of various photos of driftwood at sunset as well as random seagulls.

You probably know that Warren left to cause havoc at John Moores, Mary-Ann Adams also left to take up a position at the IMO (or so I hear). A couple of new lecturers have been taken on and Jowett has been banned from drinking at the bar due to new regulation.

Otherwise, just the same as ever! There you are, Fleetwood in a nutshell.
