  • Greetings

Hi all, I was recommended to join this website after speaking to one of my cadets on board ship. My name is Sam and I am from the New Forest, Hampshire. I have been at sea since 2006, and passed out of Warsash Maritime Academy in 2009. I have worked previously for ferries (Wightlink & Red Funnel), Bank Line, Andrew Weir Shipping and more recently the RFA and P&O Cruises. I am currently undertaking Chief Mates training, again at Warsash, and looking forward to getting my Mates ticket and going further up the career ladder with either P&O or the RFA (tbh depends who gets back to me with the best offer!!!). I look forward to hearing from you and that I may be of some assistance to deck cadets or aspiring OOWs!

Yes a fair few! I wanted to try different trades after qualifying to see what suits me the best, and after what I've done I think that cruise is the way forward. My fianc? works for HAL so I may go down the lines of getting in with them; would be nice to spend a little more time with the other half than the time I do at the moment!

I don't know what nvm means but if you are asking what does RFA mean its the Royal Fleet Auxiliary
