I'm a long time lurker.

I think it is easy for this to happen as there is so much info on this site. It's taken a while, but I've practically read the whole forum. Very interesting reading.

I've always wanted to go to sea since I was wee nipper, but have only just became mature enough to go for something like this. It's took thirty years to get here though!

Good luck! What did you do before this if you don't mind me asking. I'm just about to take a flight to Hong Kong for my first trip aboard a 270m container ship. Hopefully your successful in pursuing a career at sea. You're in the right place for advice, there's a lot of useful people and info on here on how to take your ideas from paper to reality.

I've done a lot of different jobs. I've lived in different countries so had to lower my carreer aspirations while there because I couldn't speak the languages. The main jobs I've done were IT Support, construction work & I'm currently a Mechanic.

Hong Kong on a container ship? That sounds amazing.
