Hi, I'm in the same boat (excuse the pun!) I have an interview for Clyde Marine in a week and a half - nervous/excited doesn't quite cover it! Have you heard from any other companies yet? I haven't which worries me quite a bit but I'm so happy I've an interview for Clyde - any tips/advice gratefully accepted, good luck with the interview!

I also have an interview for Clyde Marine this Wednesday, Ive sent off application forms to various other companies but I have had very few replies, only Royal Auxiliary. Should I be nervous about decline or is this what is happening for alot of people?

Hi Callum,
Dont worry this seems to be the usual. Many companies wont get back to you atall if you do not pass the paper sift. They are dealing with so many applications that it would not be possible. CMT have been very good at keeping in touch. Also if you are applying for september some companies may not have decided on their number as yet. Maersk on the other hand are at the interview stage so you may have missed out. Try phoning one or two of them up and asking about your application, they wont bite. Dont loose heart though and keep going, i am at the same stage as you and you have to be realistic about the numbers applying but if your not in it you cant win it !!

Hey Tuesday the 5th of February. I applied to Viking, SSTG and Clyde Marine. I had an interview at the start of December with Clyde Marine and I never heard back from the other two. Any advice you can give regarding interviews and what to wear? Thanks

That's what I usually wear for interviews (except mine's red), has worked quite well so far.

[seriousface] make sure you read the info that they sent you, do some google research and dress as smartly as you can (suit for guys, skirt / jacket for girls) and good luck [/seriousface]
