    Last Minute

    Hi...

    Right im not sure where to put this thread, and since Ive yet to introduce myself, I suppose here will have to do, along with my introduction of course.

    I started at GCNS in august 2007 to complete an engineer cadetship. I SHOULD have finished my oral exam in the fall of 2010... But I was offered a great job ashore and didnt go through with it. Now im regretting it!!
    I have had to sit a couple of college exams again, and Inevitably, now I am sitting my EOOW... This monday!!

    If anyone reads this before then, please can you give me some last minute advice or words of wisdom, Ive been studying non stop for months now and ive never been so nervous about any exam before...

    I hope i pass, then i can get back to what i should never have walked away from in the first place...a career! Thanks in advance.

    Be calm, confident and focused. Don't let yourself get flustered and panicked. Your story is a familiar one, except with a happy ending. I've met a few people who quit during the last phase or prior to their orals and really regretted it. Good luck

      Thanks for the calming advice. I dont know how many people ive asked for some words of wisdom!
      Really appreciate your reply. Hopefully ill be updating my profile to that of a newly qualified Engineer.

        Being confidant is half the battle with an oral exam. Be prepared for some questions to be harder than others but if you feel you've not done so well in one part of it say strong and move on. Don't let yourself get flapped

          Well guys thanks for the advice. I'm pleased to say I passed the oral today. Now I can get out and earn some coin.

            Congratulations! (You wern't sailing with Dole by chance where you?)
            I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.....

                I certainly was sailing with dole yes. How did you deduce that?
