Guys, I'm a CMT cadet headed to Glasgow in September, Clyde are very specific about when you will be assigned your sponsoring company and that is generally on the day you register with your college of study. I'm not sure many, if any, find out their sponsoring company prior to that.

That I do not know, I imagine there will be a representative for CMT there on the day, or your programme leader will inform you. However, as I'm in the same position I'm not privy to how it all goes down, but there's plenty of current CMT cadets who could probably tell you.

As far as I'm aware, Clyde are, like Ramfield said, specific about cadets finding out on the first day of college.

However, there's a few people that have been called for interviews before that, has there not?

Also, there's a lad in the FB group, and he's said that CMT are going a bit mental because he hasn't been for his vaccinations yet- yet, they told me that I would need to go for them 'if needed' - Might this mean that I am destined for the North Sea?

Yep, Chevron have been holding interviews. Ominously, they were my first choice and I haven't been... So I'm either down to two choices or they were only interviewing Electro and Engineers. I think Gulf have interviewed as well and perhaps one of the cruise liners. Not sure that alters when you find out mind.

Not contacted me, I didn't even fill it out as my medical records are still AWOL somewhere between Newquay and Bath, I just noted when I'd had specific jabs, said I may require a Tetanus vaccination as I haven't had one since I was 15. The others were things like Yellow Fever, which I think is only prevalent in Africa (a friend of mine honeymooned in Gambia and actually contracted the disease in a small way from the vaccine... super). Maybe the Facespace guy hadn't had his MMR or Diphtheria (I had them together as an infant). Actually I haven't heard a thing back from Clyde since I sent out my last folder of stuff, but I did receive a cheque for my ENG1 so I assume all is above board. Then again, maybe I'm North Sea bound. Well, could be worse.

Yellow Fever is normally required if there is even the slightest chance you will be visiting tropical places - purely because some countries (including Brazil) will not let you into the country without your yellow fever certificate.

Or there is the threat of being given the vaccine on arrival by someone with a less well developed concept of medical hygiene than your practice nurse.
