So hey everyone,

I know it said that this is really for british cadets but I'm only across the pond in Ireland so hope you wont find our system (or me) too out there.

Actually found this site when another nice sailor lady gave me a pm on the deck officer forum and pointed me in this direction for some useful chatter

I'm a decky and doing the degree in nautical science here in the NMCI in Cork.

Hope to get to chat a bit and maybe learn some stuff along the way

The man is a LEGEND!!!! We miss him dearly, bloody Fleetwood wouldn't pay him a fair and proper salery so he, quite sensibly, buggered off to someone who would.

haha no way!! He's ours now and we're keeping him!! He is just such a legend of a man. We were talking about satellites the other day and someone said something and he picked up his calculator and worked out how fast the earth spins at the lat and long of Cork and therefore the speed of the satellite!! The man is just astounding

good man to have a pint with in the local too...and I'm a smoker for my sins so never lonely in the smoking section

What's he teaching there? We had him for study skills of all mickey mouse things, he hated it as much as we did!

He teaches everything here...I think the college realises he just is an expert on absolutely everything I had him for construction and trig last semester. This semester I have him for Electronic Nav Systems.

I love the idea of pints anyway! I know he's had a couple of ex-students visit him since he's been here so we know he's as loved over there as here. We'll introduce you to the joys of ringaskiddy haha.... nah, I think we'll have to hit the city for that weekend.
