Hi there,

Daryl here, I am a Radio Officer / Communications Officer who has been at sea for quite a few years now.
Now working for the Maritime Industry shoreside.

Just keeping my hand in, within the maritime community.

There isn't many of your kin about these days!
I take it you were on Passie boats if serving as a Sparkie, or were you about before the 1992 bloodbath?

Hi Malim,

I missed the GMDSS bloodbath, I joined a Passenger ship in 1999 as one of the last Radio Officers. Within a month we were Communications Officers & left 9 years later as an I.T. Officer working with other I.T. Officers who couldnt work a walkie talkie let alone a HF tranceiver. No seagoing experiance but I.T. shoreside & right onto a ship.........
