    Re: Hi everybody

    Welcome:- Lewis.
Don't know what a PD is, but I hope it does something for your spelling and grammar.
Just typo's I'm sure, but they really do look bad.

Claws in! As much as I like to see correct use of the language and perfect spelling, it doesn't come as readily to some people and there's plenty of time for things like that to be picked up on at college.

Welcome Lewis, hope you find the site useful!

                  Re: Hi everybody

After my research session I think I have my 3 choices.
                  Lomar shipping Ltd
                  Dole(UK) Ltd
                  Norbulk Shipping (UK) Ltd
Anyone have and feed back for me on these? Especial interested in anyone who has been a cadet with them.
Or just any feed back for somebody starting out in this career.
Cheers guys sorry if I am being a pain in the a**.

Looking Ahead - Norbulk would be best on your C.V.

                      Re: Hi everybody

Hi, I'm just starting out aswell, Engine side though with SSTG, and though I can't help out much with the companies you mention, I can say something about Clyde Marine.

Not to worry you, but if you read through these boards the general consensus is that Clyde don't always pay too much attention to your choices, and you're very likely as a male cadet to end up with Zodiac, as they seem to take everyone going, if you look through the foru, you'll find lots of stories, and possibly some for your companies, just don't hold out for them too much.

                        cheers
Just a few quick questions. Why would Norbulk be better for my CV?
What difference does it make that I am male. Thought it was a modern world theses days :P
Don't mind not getting my choices. Just as long as I don't end up on a cruise ship, I've had enough of the hospitality industry. From what I've heard this is unlikely as apparently there quite thought after. So even those that want one probably wont get it.

                          Re: Hi everybody

From what I gather Zodiac are a Russian company, and can be quite rough, short cuts etc... some awful experiences, some positive, what you make of it at the end of the day.

But I think Clyde or someone are aware of the stories and as such try and keep the fairer sex out of harms way, the world might be modern, but attitudes aren't always.

And yeah, apparently cruise ships are very difficult unless it's what you really want, and I must agree with you, having worked with customers at a face to face level for four years I can safely say I hate them

I echo Tempest whilst I dont hate the general public there is no way I would spend months at a time in an enclosed place with them.

I wouldn't say no way but I'd just rather avoid it.
