Why was this thread closed? i was going to go back and ask the poster if he had any luck with any of the suggestions. Thought it would be useful for future use if anyone finds themselves in the same situation. But it has been closed

One of the team obviously felt the need to close it.

It shall remain closed because it is not a thread which requires ongoing discussion, the anonymous area is for sensitive posts - the thread in question is not a sensitive matter.

Possibly because that is how that particular board is set up??

Or at least, according to the message at the top, all threads that have been inactive for two weeks will be automatically closed, and the thread in question does say it was last active two weeks ago!

The thread has closed because there is a program in place that automatically closes threads that have been inactive for more than 2 weeks. It's in the little yellow note box at the top of the page.

This was put into the anon forum to try and cut down on the large numbers of threads that were coming through which may not necessarily need to be in that section. It also tried to encourage people who post non sensitive questions in the anon forum to register an account.

As Faust says, this question was not a sensitive question anyway
