Post Count System

I am aware of a system on another forum website where posts in areas such as "General Chat" and "Forum Administration", where the posts are of no benefit to out given topic, are not counted.

I personally find this an excellent method, in particular when there are threads going around unrelated to the Merchant Navy.

Thought I would throw the idea out there, see what other members think.

Sounds like it would require someone to decide what post counts as relevant and what doesn't, all sorts of interesting things pop up in the pub forums, although, as you say, many are pretty irrelevant, but I for one don't have the time to go through and make that call on each post! Plus I have no idea on whether it's a technical possibility... where's the H when you need him?

I have to agree. What difference does it make? It's not like who ever gets the most post gets a prize.

It's definitely a technical possibility, all you do is just choose the general chatter and pub forums to not register a post count.

Not sure if PhpBB allows us to. Not sure if we really need to personally, but open for opinions
