  • Board etiquette

Being a seasoned message board user for 15 plus years, from music, cars, ships etc. This board has potential however there are a few flaws. The main one being that when a topic could be a runner it gets repeatedly ruined by someone writing a novel. This isn't a blog and my tip if you want your response to be read and become a top forumer.... Keep it short! Rant over

    Hello!

Welcome to OC, I do hope you decide to register and join the conversations I take your point about long posts - if you've just dropped in for a browse a long diatribe can be off putting. But, I would also say that some of our threads become quite involved, and as such I would prefer that someone made a reasoned, rational argument for their side of the debate (with references if possible!) rather than a short snappy answer that leads to confusion and butthurt.

I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.....

I don't think much can be done.

It is mentioned that one should look through all of the past threads before asking a question - to keep things short. However, I think in most cases each new thread will discuss something slightly different from the rest.
