I saw this message in another post on another board, but I have an interview with Clyde Marine in Southampton in January for the September intake, maybe for Jan intake also but what companies should I research or should it be specific simply to the ships currently in operation.

There are a lot of sponsors for the company that it deals with. Surely I dont have to study every company that they work with?

I'm with Clyde Marine.Deck Cadet. They sent me through a list of all different kinds of ships and information about them, such as crew numbers, speed, cargo. At the interview they asked what I wanted to end up on and they then asked questions about that type of ship. However they could you ask about any of them. Also read up on what you expect to find in your relevant area. Ie. for a decky "What equipment do you expect to find on board a bridge?" and "What is the role and duties of a Deck Officer" It's nothing to hard if you do some brief reading into what you are going into!

How soon after your interview did you receive an offer from them?
What was the time from your interview to the start of the course?
