    How does dyslexia effect an ENG1?

    hi i was just wondering if anyone know how dyslexia would effect an EN1
    i have herd that it could causes it to be reduced to a EN2 or EN3 ?
    i recived extra time in college for dyslexia although i didnt need any other support and still recived good marks in both english and maths at a levels , im just comming up to my exams in phase one and am thinking of claiming extra time for them ,
    i already have an eng1 and my company has advised me to take the extra time although my tutor has not worried that it could effect my ENG when i come to re do it as well as job prospects
    has anyone got any thouhgts on the matter?

    I don't know for sure if dyslexia will cause ENG1 problems, I don't ever remember be asked about it during an ENG1 and I do know people at sea with quite serious dyslexia so my gut feeling is that it shouldn't be a problem, but you should search the MCA website for the ENG1 requirements or contact the seafarer standards branch directly for a definitive answer.

      Dyslexia is not an ENG1 item, colour blindness yes, dyslexia no....as evidenced by most of my posts it is no hinderance to becoming a Chief ....assuming properly "diagnosed" then most companies wont be too bothered as it's more a matter as you say of extra time in exams and maybe a reader for essays etc.
      Trust me I'm a Chief.

        I have mild dyslexia and like you just take the extra time in exams but don't need any extra help. I wasn't even asked about it in my medical
