I'm no optician, but if you've got some old glasses with a slightly weaker prescription perhaps you could get your eyes and brain used to interpreting a bit of blurriness so when you take your contacts out / glasses off, the blurry letters on the chart dont look so bad.

    Eyesight requirements

Basically, I have a place for a deck cadetship beginning September of this year, and had absolutely no concerns about my medical whatsoever. However I have just been to my optician for a check up and asked if while I was there if they would check the requirements for me, as I do wear contact lenses and wanted to check I had 6/60 vision unaided...I could only get the 6/60 letters while absolutely squinting and so now I am slightly worried..
I was wondering whether this will be acceptable for my medical, and how strict they are regarding eyesight? I have 6/6 vision in both eyes while wearing contacts, dont have any form of colourblindness, so if anyone could ease my worrying that would be great!
