  • Lack of seatime

So i'm sponsored by a company does not take cadets on board their own ships, so my training agency has to pay for me to sail on other ships to get my seatime.

However I need just over 3 weeks seatime to get before I can apply for my noe, but the agency dosn't seem to be doing a lot about it. I've been waiting around for nearly a month doing nothing, is there anything I can do to speed up the process for instance can I start emailing shipping companies asking them if I can come on their ship for a few weeks.?

A friend with a similar outfit had ten weeks between his lat ship and the one hes just joined now, It may also depend on how long you spent at sea before this and if they believe you are entitled to some 'leave' after that. It would be a good idea to ring them and just ask so you can at least plan your time rather than sitting waiting for every email. (if you have then ignore that)
It will be frustrating waiting for so little time but then thats the joy of cadetships
you can take it with a pinch of salt, but i prefer it with a nip of whisky
