Spiking/Accidental consumation of drugs and drugs testing

This is a sensitive matter, so i am going to remain anonymous for this post.

I went to a music event, during which i accepted a drink that was going round our friends, after taking a few swigs, i was told that the drink had been deliberately spiked with a multiple (5 or 6 i think) ecstasy tablets. I instantly freaked out and started shouting at the person who did it telling them i am getting drugs tested within a few weeks/months. I couldn't make myself be sick to try and rid myself of the substance (I had a good time in the end, i kind of just accepted it) but now, i am kind of worried that during my ENG1 or Mandatory drugs test, i am going to test positive for it and fail. If i explain what happened and declare that i unknowingly taken drugs, what will happen? I am a very anti-drugs person and have never taken drugs before but now i am in a bit of a predicament which makes me look like i have taken them.

Four small things: -

1) Why in the hell would you accept a drink thats being passed around in that fashion? Are you fecking stupid?

2) Considering I've yet to see a news story about the death of a dozen morons at a music concert and the fact that you're still here means that there was probably nothing in there since 5 or 6 ectasy tablets, even when in a liquid, is a massive overdose for most people which would probably make your brain swell to the size of the football. Did you have a "trip" after drinking it? Any reaction at all? Did you have the chemical hang-over the next morning? If not, then I doubt there was anything in it.

3) Drug testing people have heard it all. If you have been truly spiked, then the reasonable assumption would have been that you would have reported it to the police and would have a crime reference number to show them. If you have taken it for fun and have now thought "****, drug tests!" then you're kinda screwed as they're not going to believe it, in which case I am fresh out of sympathy.

4) Why on earth would you hang around with people who would do that in the bleeding first place?

Don't sweat it, they probably only do a urine test and it only takes a few days for that to be clear of MDMA. Detectable for longer in hair.

ENG1 is not, and does not include, a drug test.

FFS don't tell anyone involved with your cadetship that you might have taken something, even if it wasn't entirely deliberate.

Im with GM, you really shouldnt take drinks from other people especially in a party enviroment, similarly leaving them unattended etc.

that said everyone has sent a mate to the bar for drinks so you need to draw the line somewhere.

the test is months away and you will be fine, but it is something you need to be aware of

I know someone that had to do a drugs test with his eng1, he did weed a lot so refused the first drugs test and was able to get it rescheduled think he failed that one as it was still in his system but weed does, few years later he applied for the same company and is starting with then this month (think the recruiters had changed since his first try )

I find that hard to believe. They don't do drug tests during an ENG1, a refusal is considered a "fail" and the recruiters keep records....

well that's what I thought, but his company wanted one as their american and some other jazz, just think he was very lucky/fluky

I still don't believe it. Refusing to take a D&A test is considered a "Fail" therefore he would have been bounced. Also, recruiters do keep records of who applies and what not, so a change of recruiter doesn't mean very much.

A company mandated drugs test on the same day as his ENG1, not a drugs test as part of his ENG1. There's a difference.

Dont worry mdma will be out your system before you know it just keep hydrated and pass urine before bed prevents swelling of the brain.

Understanding Is...

firstly, you still have 2 months until you go to college and should be undertaking any drug testing, unless your a regular user pretty much everything will be out of your system by then, secondly even if something does crop up on your drug test at the begining of college you will be given a warning and re-tested using a more accurate test to see whether you are a regular user or whether there is just some leftovers in your system, the people at the college understand many of their cadets will have come from 'different' backgrounds and therefore may have 1 or 2 skeletons in their closets.... We've all made mistakes. Any decisions taken on the basis of a drug test would be open to appeals and as your a new cadet, and therefore not necessarily actually breaking any rules at the time of employment a degree of leaniency will be shown. If your failing 3 months in naturally your gonna get kicked off of the course and quite rightly so though.

Some companies do hair tests for drugs, in which case escstacy stay's in your hair for 3 months. Heard of people getting sacked for shaving off all their hair so that one's out as well. For urine and blood tests MDMA should pass within a few days, but as I said before, get a hair test and it's game over. If you had gotten spiked you should have gone to a police station and reported it, that way you could stand a chance of fighting a negative result.

I would like to see how a company justifies dissmissal becasue of a hair cut, perhaps a building in the history of shaving your head randomly or for charity would be a good idea. just so its not abnormal behaviour

The urine test you are required to take during a standard ENG1 is just to test for blood and sugar in your urine - to confirm you do not have diabetes or some form of infection.

Only RFA and cruise cadets were drugs tested before starting the cadetship, the rest of us were tested in the first phase.
