  • These twic cards!

What is it with the Americans and twic cards? Are they making it harder for sailors to get shore leave on purpose? The last American port we went into we had to order a special twic registered service bus for 10 which cost $180 for a 14 mile round trip!! (Which we had to foot as our company wouldn't pay). It also meant we had to go where everyone else wanted to, which was a Walmart on an industrial estate, no chance to explore the city. Are the mission to seafarers and the flying angel etc twic registered generally?

I remember the seaman's mission had their own twic cards and didn't charge us for taking us ashore; we just had to make a donation. However we did have to sit down for 20 minutes while they tried to convert us, however it beat paying hundreds of dollars just to get ashore as with the mission we could go for free.
