I found myself reading cruise critic for the 'voyages' I had been on the ship as a cadet and they were pretty spot on. I'll never understand why the chefs put so much salt in the food, unless it was just to sell more drinks.

Don't forget the random fuel smell floating around the shipThose aren't exactly major problems, things happen - besides, the crew accommodation will be far far worse than anything the passengers see

- Yes, some people don't like the food
- Yes, occasionally there can be a slight hint of eau d'**** and piss in the air
- Yes, staff, when faced with some drunken idiot who insists on blaming his waiter for the fact that the flight was delayed can occasionally be less than friendly in return
- Yes, sometimes the water coming out of the taps doesn't look like the water which comes out of the taps at home.
As with most complaints about anything, some are genuinely people who felt that a holiday they had paid good money for was spoilt by poor quality service, other are just moaning, miseravle bastards who love nothing better than to complain.
As for why the "suits at the top" are not sorting it, for most companies where these issues are seen as genuine there will be pressure to get it sorted, but companies operating older ships and selling cruises cheaply also understand that they are not operating luxury cruises and that there is only so much that can be done on the budget which is limited due to the fact that they sell the cruises so cheaply.

Take what Faust said. There are a lot worse ships floating around out there with some accommodations that animals couldn't live in so I wouldn't go reading those sorts of things.

That sounds like luxury compared to some ships that roam the high seas.
