  • ETO Cadetship with Carnival or Princess cruises?

Hello I was wondering what the difference would be in having an ETO cadetship with Carnival or Princess?

I know Princess is smaller and from what I understand is partly owned by Carnival anyway? but is there any difference in the quality of training and pay an ETO cadet is likely to get with those two companies?

    Thanks

well the ETO training record book got a lot of input from a P&O Senior ETO so they're pretty clued up about the scheme. The ETO scheme seems to be a new offering from Princess, it wasn't advertised for ther 2010 intake, not sure about the 2011 one. Their ETO cadets used to be 'supplied' by SSTG. There are Carnival UK and Princess (via SSTG) cadets in my class and the training was definitely better on the Carnival UK ships.

No idea about the pay, can't imagine much of a difference.

I think you'll find that Princess are actually larger in terms of overall cadet intake, though yes they're owned by Carnival Corporation, and the cadet scheme is run from the same office.

Pay should be broadly in line.
