Deck HND programme

Hello everyone I need to know when HND deck cadets are supposed to go on their first sea phase because in my joining instructions it says that phase 1 ends on 23rd december and then the sea phase starts up until 3rd september when phase 2 college starts. But i phoned my company yesterday and they said there is a second college phase after christmas until mid march then you will go on your first ship few weeks after that so around begining of april. So im not sure what is correct my jonining instructions or maybe this person in the company got it wrong because it says nothing about a second college phase after december until mid march?

Hello there,

This sort of topic shouldn't eally go in the Anonymous forum as it is not a "sensitive" topic. However, since I can quickly and easily answer I've approved this one.

If you'e on the deck HND at Warsash, you will have finished phase one by Christmas and will have from late December to early September available as your sea phase. The FD couse extends into January, and the engineering courses extend go on until March.

I told my company i was HND deck (well they should know that...) but they said to me after christmas i will go back to college until mid march, do you think they have me mistaken for engineering? thanks
