25 seems a bit low. You sure this is recent info? Army I think is currently 33 for officer entry.

I think the military have ways of getting around it, just like churches can get away with discriminating over this and that.

It would help - but it wont automatically get you in.

Might help you in your interview at AIB and probably help you through BRNC alot of what you'll learn you'll have done before.

The only real advantage is if you were looking to join the RNR after you qualify, you can go in as an officer rather than a rating. You still have to get through the AIB and I believe you have to do some time at BRNC. The RNR use MN qualified deck officers as liaisons on merchant ships chartered for military use and in amphibious warfare.

You go to the factory with all the other erks; it would make very little difference I think.

You'd have to go through their training I think, the way they do things is in some areas, very different to the way we do it! Have you considered the RFA?

If I graduate this course, can I use it to become an officer in the Royal Navy, or will I have to go through the same officer training as everyone else in the Royal Navy?Tags: None
