'11 applicants - who've you applied to & have they replied?

Just because I feel like hearing back from the people who're in a similar situation.

I've applied to Anglo-Eastern, BP, Chiltern, Shell, Trinity House and Viking. I sent the applications around a month ago.

So far BP emailed me to say that they've had loads more applications that they expected and aren't up to where they expected to be in terms of getting back to people. They said there'd be some kind of preliminary telephone interview screening so I keep my phone with me as much as possible. Has anyone had this call already? Meanwhile I keep getting telemarketing calls and it's not fun.

Anglo-Eastern replied quickly and I'm expecting to travel for an interview when they know the next set of dates.

Think a lot of people are full you might have to wait till 2012

i sent applications to all the ones you.ve mentioned excluding anglo eastern. Also applied to sstg, maersk, clyde maritime. Sstg contacted me the next day and had an interview for the week after. Have heard from bp. None of the others have responded even though all my applications were sent off end of january, begining of feb

alright, so which companies are full already? or where can I find that information?

the information should be on the respective companies website however you might have to hunt around to find it. Sstg has closed off for deck officer applications, clyde marine has also stopped taking applications, think maersk has closed too however you'd have to check. As to any of the others i have no idea

applied to clyde, SSTG, BP, shell and other who I forget. Only clyde got back to me and was accepted.

I applied to all the usual suspects...mearsk, sstg, clyde marine, fisher, anglo-eastern...cant remember now, but most of the companies on the careers at sea website.

BP got back in touch with those update emails, Anglo eastern sent me an email telling me that they were full for the 2011 intake and I have an interview with Clyde on Wednesday (2 days away...honestly can't wait). Apart from that I have not heard anything else.

just got a place with sstg, some guy dropped his place with oocl to join another company so it looks like i could be starting this september rather that next year january
