I'm interested in a career in the MN, but what are the onshore prospects for officers, Deck or Engineering? Does one have better prospects than the other? Any other info as well would be gr8

It's been covered before on here but comming ashore is ok and do-able.
Engineers tend to end up as Superintendents, Technical Managers and the likes also Technicians for engine/ equipment makers etc
Deck tend to be Safety Suppers, ISM inspectors, Fleet managers and the likes.
Both can join the MCA as inspectors, Class Surveyors and similar.
Prospects ashore for both are nowadays about equal as with most things it's a matter of timming and who's on the look out for staff when you decide to come ashore etc.Trust me I'm a Chief.
