To Late for Jan 2011 application?

The questions in the tile really. Just wondered if anyone had any experience of putting in an application this late?

Depends on who you're applying to really. I got a Jan place with Trinity House when I applied in November, and a friend of mine has just been accepted by them too, so no, it's not too late, but a lot of the big companies take a lot longer to process cadets and for some people it takes months.

If its Engineering then indeed there are plenty of places remaining, however deck training is fully booked, or so a friend of mine tells me who is trying to find a berth at the moment. If you have a job and are happy to wait then the best vacencies usually, and I say usually, start in Septemeber. I would hold on till then, do some volenteering with Jubilee sailing trust or save up some cash, pass your car. motorbike licence, go traveling the world and enjoy..
