I've personally had some bad experiences with security contractors and would genuinely prefer to sail without them and use alternative precautions if on board a commercial vessel. Very sad if drugs has been involved, and a big embarrassment for Maersk.Comment

The whole anti-piracy thing is a bit of a con if you ask me, you should see how much these cowboys charge - I was in Dubai a couple of years ago and even back then people were saying that some of the security companies were involved in piracy in order to keep the business model going...Cruise ship Captain with experience on-board Passenger Vessels ranging from 5500-150000 GRT.Comment
