              Erm... Royal Caribbean was berthed.

Carnival was backing out of the harbour when the squall hit and was pushed into the RCCL one. At slow speed cruise ships (and any high sided ship like car carriers) are stuffed if they get a sudden strong (talking 30+ kts of cross wind). No amount of thrusters is going to stop you going into the pier / anything thats near you!

Theres been a few occasions where the ships i've been on have had to delay sailing because of strong winds or worse, have had to start the engines and use the thrusters to stop the ship blowing off the berth!

QM2 snapped 7 mooring lines once, a sudden squall came through and PING!!!! I wasn't on board then, but heard the stories many times!

OOOPS! Was that weather driven or muppet driven? looks like they've got their bow thrusters going.
