    cost cutting can be dangerous, however companies are there to make money at the end of the day. And if they didn't make money, we wouldn't have jobs.

    Quite a few dead, very sad. Incidents like this "shouldn't" happen, but unfortunately cost cutting and poor planning is often the cause.
    If there is one thing anyone in the maritime industry is sure of, (particularly shipping companies), that companies will always try to cut costs to the bare minimum.

    This looks nasty; the conditions sound pretty similar to the North Sea. BBC report The report suggests the mess windows were stoved in by waves followed by flooding and capsize. Lack of storm shutters/deadlights?
