    and (cant find the link) ferry run over by cargo boat in the Netherlands....not a good day for the seafarers

      Astute is sitting outside the buoyed channel, upon well charted rocks.
      Still, I'm sure someone will tell her CO and Navs that commanding a desk for the rest of their careers isn't as bad as it sounds.....

              The RN don't do 'sackings' unless it's something really serious - almost writing off a warship doesn't fall into that category as it happens often enough, e.g. Southampton/Trenchant/Nottingham/Trafalgar/Grimsby/Tireless/Vanguard/Superb/Endurance.

                No, to get court martialled you have to do something serious like telling sexist jokes, or not letting the Junior Rates wear their iPods while on watch.
