"One of the key demands will be for Britain to buy UK made military and civilian vessels, instead of importing them from countries such as South Korea, heralding a “ship building renaissance that even Singapore can’ t match”."

In order to buy UK made ships we first need some shipyards to build them in.

Interesting from the UK MInister today "Encouraging more women into seafaring careers will help the United Kingdom improve its skills base, especially as shipping becomes more technologically advanced, the country’s shipping minister said". More from him at:http: http://www.worldmaritimenews.com/arc...aring-careers/

The shipping industry is certainly held back by the lack of female recruitment, as is any industry which gets most of it’s new intake from only 50% of the population.

Thankfully this is slowly changing, although I can’t see brexit improving anything, (no really, not just this, not just female recruitment not just the UK shipping industry, anything at all)

Agree completely Brexit is probably the most daft thing the UK have done. I doubt very much that the people who voted for it will actually get out of it what they thought they would. I'm currently watching the higher education debate on parliament, well, worrying that so many of the cons are using such poor arguments.
