    Hi

    Hey,

I'm in the same boat, I am using the www.marinediesels.info website and it has some good stuff on it, i paid for the membership at it has loads of questions and answers for the motor paper, but nothing for the general.

Have you got anything for General papers.

Did you do the HND or HNC route in college?

    Thanks,

    J.

It's not my right to dock the boat
    or even clang the bell

      Hi,

Yeah I joined up to marine diesels since I wrote that post it's a great site. I've ordered all the past paper books aswell, you can get a general book that has questions and answers from part a only and there is an electric book as well with q and a's. I done the HNC which I finished in 2012 so luckily I still get exemptions.

Marine Diesels is excellent, I used it for mt chief's many years ago and it was invaluable. I believ there is a site called marine-engineering.info or something similar which does general?

Like everyone has said marine diesels is the one to go for. I've just done mine at the start of this year and even with marine diesels we had a small cluster of new questions to give us all a kick in the nuts. Just beware as there's a few wording errors that can lead you to give a wrong answer and a few answers where the college will have a waaaaaay easier solution, especially with drawings.

My biggest tip for the writtens is to nail your drawings early because that's what's going to screw you up. Also, make sure you don't neglect nav arc and electrics because there's a minimum mark on both of those sections.

This is pretty much spot on, you should be able to draw a fuel injector, a fuel pump, a crosshead bearing, 2 and 4 stroke pistons and a Michelle thrust block for motor and a centrifugal pump for general in your sleep.

Clanky, I can't find anything other than the marine diesels website, what is this other one for general questions which you are on about?

              Thanks,

              J.

Sorry to resurrect a thread but found this one particularly useful for sources of info for my seconds.

Found some more past papers here, a lot of info on fees/schedules obviously aimed at foreign students. Past papers are towards the top of the page.
