Need some input from other minds.
We've got 3 HFO purifiers, Alfa Laval FOPX. All 3 are falling over after a few days running, maybe getting a week max.
When we open them up they are absolutely minging, the whole bowl is almost filled with sludge as well as the space outside the bowl. Opened up the frame to inspect the space where the sludge discharges into the drain tank it was covered in thick sludge as well but should still allow sludge to pass to the drain tank. Took off sludge chute and butterfly valve - all clear. Checked drain tank to see if sludge could be backing up sludge chute, that's not happening.
They shutdown on vibration. Pretty certain its not a bowl problem as that side of things seems fine and eliminated everything in the troubleshooting guide.
It's as if the sludge is blocking the sludge ports, the sludge in the bowl is not getting away so is building up inside the bowl until it gets so full it puts the bowl out of balance and sends it haywire.
Got an obvious theory but wondered if anyone else has had problems like this before and would like to share their experience?
