What I don't understand is that when I go for an eng1 for an engineer. Is an engineer eng1 the same as a deck eng1. As I said in a previous post I have been made fit by the Caledonian university to work with cables so my colour is fine for an engineer. As I will be going for an engineer eng1 will I have a restriction as I am aware if I went for deck I would get a restriction for lookout. Or would I get a full eng1

Hi I was in a similar position as you. At the top of your Eng 1 you will have two boxes, one saying deck and the other engine. The engine one will obviously be ticked. Further down there is a box that says Colour vision Defective Yes/No and mine has the yes ticked, then there is a restrictions box which will say restrictions, and mine only says No lookout duties. Lastly, when you go for your Eng 1 make sure you take your paperwork from GCU Eye Clinic!C

You have to be honest in your application. People have been caught out before and it doesn't go down well when they find out in the interview that you've lied in your application. Tick the box, and then see if there's anywhere you can explain that you've passed a test to show that you'd be fit to work with cables etc and it won't affect your ability to obtain a full ENG1

Yes, you should tick the box as you're still colour blind, because you (I guess presumably) failed the Ishiharra test. Seeing as your ok to work with cables, I suspect you passed the Farnsworth D15/City University test. If they accept your application you will probably recieve an e-mail saying. "Dear, name. We would be delighted to welcome you for an interview on receipt of your Eng1." Go to your nearest MCA doctor, and take the paper work, they have a book where it says if you pass the City University/Farnsworth D15 test, you can work with cables ok. I suspect they wouldn't test your colour vision again. Then they should issue out your ENG 1.C
