  • Documenteries for new and aspiring Engineer Cadets

    Hello,

Here is some links for a few of the many ship documentaries on youtube.

    Ferry

    LNG (Liquid Natural Gas) Tanker.

    Container Ship

    High-speed Catamaran

    Offshore Ships and Rigs

More in depth engineering videos playlist, probably too complicated for you understand alot of it, but gives you an idea where you will be in 3 years as an engineer.

Yeah I remember watching that Merchant Navy documentary, was also one of the reasons I decided to do this. Does anyone know the cadets featured in the video and where they are now? Would be interesting to know cos I guess they would've been qualified for a few years by now.

I know that Cailean - the fella from Benbecula in the Outer Hebrides - is a 3/0 with BP working on LNG tankers.

Craig is working on the Maersk Tackler out of Aberdeen just now and Nicola is Maersk's DPA for some of the fleet and she deals with other such office things as responding to near misses and the personal injury reports, no idea about the other one.

Yes I work for the big blue canoe company.
No I do not report things from here to them as they are quite able to come and read this stuff for themselves.

I was on a Dansk ship so she was only replying to my near misses, but I had heard such DPA rumours
